Typical Installations
NOTE: The following information is provided to assist you in selecting the chimney components required for your installation. It is intended to be a guideline only. These are not the installation instructions.
Straight Out / Up and Out Installation: This is the most common type of direct vent installation. The use of an optional trim ring (TM-TR) depends upon whether or not the venting will be visible. When used with a wall thimble, the trim ring is purely decorative.
Straight Up Installation: In a straight up installation you have your choice of support. For a clean look at the ceiling, the Ceiling Support (TM-CS) can be used with a Trim Ring (TM-TR). Round and square supports are best suited for longer runs and pitched ceilings, they include their own finishing trims.
Masonry Chimney Installation: Installing a direct vent fireplace or stove into an existing masonry chimney requires an adapter at that allows two flexible pipes to be connected to the stove. A special flashing and cap make for a clean installation at the top of the chimney.
